A Y-strip is a piece of kinesiology tape with a longitudinal cut extending from one end toward a solid anchor end. When the two 'tails' are separated and applied to the skin, the taping resembles a Y. This taping configuration is usually applied around the perimeter of a muscle that is injured, inflamed or weak.
SpiderTech's Y PowerStrips are individual, 2" x 8" strips of kinesiology tape, conveniently attached in an accordion format They are ideal for taping areas like the arm, thigh, neck, back, ankle or calf. Smooth, machine cut edges and rounded corners greatly reduce the fraying and curling that can occur with hand cut applications. The backing is divided into numbered sections for simple, step by step application. Perforations in the backing make it easy to apply the tape, one section at a time.
The Y-strip can be used alone or in combination with any of the other SpiderTech PowerStrips or Precut Kinesiology Tape applications. All SpiderTech products are made from premium Nitto Denko SpiderTape, and can be worn 3-5 days.
What are SpiderTech PowerStrips?
PowerStrips are precut strips of Nitto Denko SpiderTape, already cut in the most widely-used configurations - the X Strip, the Y Strip and the I Strip. PowerStrips combine the ease of precut applications with the versatility of rolls. Use them to enhance a precut application for a specific body part or for minor injuries that simply need a strip or two of kinesiology tape. PowerStrips can also be used to create custom tapings for individuals too small or too large for precut applications.
Faster than cutting from scratch from a roll of tape, and easier to duplicate. No wasted tape from cutting and trimming. Because all edges are machine cut, applications made from SpiderTech Power Strips last longer with less fraying.
Power Strips are available in all 4 SpiderTech colors (beige, black, blue, pink), plus SpiderTech's exclusive Gentle adhesive.
How Does SpiderTape Work?
The unique combination of thinness, elasticity and adhesive wave pattern allows SpiderTape to microscopically lift the skin, creating a space between the skin and the underlying tissues. This relieves pressure and irritation on the underlying pain receptors, which can lead to a rapid relief of pain. It also reduces pressure on the lymphatic drainage system, allowing it to more effectively remove fluid causing swelling and edema. These qualities create a therapeutic tape of unsurpassed quality that can used as a sports tape or athletic tape just as effectively as a medical tape.
What Makes SpiderTape Special?
Because Spider Tech Tape has an almost identical thickness and elasticity as human skin, it is completely comfortable to wear. It does not compress, bind or chaffe sensitive areas. The SpiderTape method of kinesiology taping involves applying the tape over and around muscles and joints, rather than encasing them in tape, as traditional athletic taping does. This allows SpiderTech kinesiology tape to provide support without restricting a healthy range of motion. This feature is especially appreciated by athletes and injured individuals who need to continue their activities as they recover from an injury.
